I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that my favorite weddings are those that are down-to-earth, simple, yet so classically elegant. This wedding was certainly a Classic DIY Wedding.
The details were so elegant, yet so simple. They encapsulated the couple’s story so nicely, without making the decor seem gaudy or too heavy.
This is the story of Danielle and Nicholas Bettencourt.
Danielle first met Nicholas in college through mutual friends. They immediately hit it off and their relationship progressed. Through their relationship, they showed interest in exploring the world together through traveling and hiking a variety of trails across the United States, and even outside of the United States.
While exploring the mountains of the Azores in Portugal on yet another adventure together, Nicholas decided it was time to make Danielle his forever.
While they were hiking, Nicholas got down on one knee and popped the question. What gorgeous scenery for a gorgeous couple!
Their Wedding Details
Their wedding reflected their personalities. It was natural, beautiful, and down-to-earth. Their wedding was mostly DYI, including their wedding arch, cards, and goodie bags.
To add, the color scheme of this wedding was absolutely gorgeous. It included much greenery, with compliments of brown and touches of white and pink. Everything about this wedding was perfectly natural. It truly was one of the most naturally beautiful weddings I have ever attended in my professional photographer career.
I truly love how custom they made their decor, as it showed their personalities and love story. When the couple was asked about their wedding details on their feature for The Knot, they said, “Let your wedding be a reflection of who you and your partner are.”
Danielle’s dress followed the theme of the wedding, showcasing a natural white gown with minimal details. It featured thick straps and a long gorgeous train. For her florals, she had a bouquet and floral crown. These were made of different shades of greenery, accented with white and blush roses.
This wedding truly was a luxury, Classic DIY wedding. It showcased a connection to the beauty of the Earth in such a natural and creative way.
Thank you to Danielle and Nicholas for having me, and I wish you many happy years together!
